Sustainable Development Issues Network for 2002

SDIN is a collaborative effort among civil society networks
and nongovernmental issue caucuses aiming to improve communications
and access to information on sustainable development issues
among NGOs engaging in WSSD. The site offers news, documents,
key organizations, and other info on a variety of issues,
managed by volunteer issue coordinators.
Earth Summit 2002: Building Partnerships for Sustainable
Development (Stakeholder Forum - formerly UNED-UK)

Stakeholder Forum provides a fairly comprehensive collection
of links to relevant news articles, major groups, regional
preparations, and key UN/multilateral documents on a variety
of issues. They also publish Network 2002, a monthly online
newsletter about the Summit process.
Rio10: Civil Society Preparation in Africa, Latin
America, and Africa (Danish 92 Group)

Focusing on facilitating increased participation of Southern
NGOs in WSSD, the Danish 92 Group and their Southern partner
organizations have developed a site with extensive regional
and country resources, available in four languages.

Friends of the Earth International created Radio
Earth Summit to broadcast and document the stories of people
who have been affected by multinational corporations.
The Virtual Exhibition (BASD/UNDP)

A joint project between business and UNDP, this site has
a project showcase, topical discussions (moderated by IISD),
and a partner matching tool. During the Summit, they will
also have a live webcast from Joburg.
World Sustainability Hearing: Putting a Face on
Globalization

The World Sustainability Hearing, a project of the Earth
Island Insititute, will be an ongoing event in Johannesburg,
allowing people from around the world to testify about what
their world is like, as they call on governments to take
real action to alleviate the problems they face daily.

framework and its endorsement, collaboration, and use within
UN agencies, governments, and NGOs.
From Rio to Jo'burg: What's the news? (FoEI/BUND)

Friends of the Earth International (FoEI) and FoE Germany
(BUND) have developed an excellent resource for those who
need to get a perspective on the issues emerging for WSSD.
Besides news and FoE positions, the site includes action-oriented
areas where you can send postcards and emails, download
an Action Kit, and view a clickable map of Europe to get
details on planned Action Days.

This site is a project of WildNet Africa, who are using
the site as a tool to engage the millions who will be unable
to attend the Summit, but are interested in participating

Business Action for Sustainable Development (WBCSD/ICC)

A network set up for business and industry participation
in WSSD, their website highlights partnerships and business
solutions to sustainable development, has articles from
"the voice of business" perspective, and a list
of business related events in Johannesburg.
