Issues of the World Summit
The World Summit on Sustainable Development will address a range of issues
underneath the heading of "sustainable development." Many of
these issues were addressed at the 1992 Earth Summit, and the discussion will
focus on to what degree the plans and commitments made at that time were implemented.
Other issues not directly addressed by the Earth Summit, many dealing with the
obstacles to implementation, are at the forefront of current discussions in
preparations for the World Summit, such as on globalization, corporate accountability,
and governance.

and in the process leading up to it:
