Yesterday Maryland became the first state in the country to include environmental literacy as a requirement for high school education.


$65 million for regional sustainability planning

June 21, 2011, Washington, DC. For years CitNet members have talked about the need for sustainability planning -- at all levels. Today Housing and Urban Development Secretary Donovan announced $65 million would soon be available support regional sustainability planning.

For years the debate has raged over the role "green marketing" would play within the sustainability movement, the power of increasingly aware and responsible consumers "voting with their dollars."
