Completion of energy benchmark readings for NYC buildings
The bloomberg administration announced the completion of energy benchmark readings for NYC buildings that will provide baseline support for achievement of the PlaNYC goal to reduce the City's energy consumption 30% by 2017. T
The energy benchmarking of 2,790 City buildings, which includes every City-owned building over 10,000 square feet, provides a detailed understanding of building energy use that allows energy efficiency efforts to be targeted for the greatest impact. Almost 80% of New York's greenhouse gas emissions are related to energy consumption n buildings.
